Berkhamsted Waterways Walk

Berkhamsted Waterways Walk

Take a walk along the waterways of Berkhamsted, with these three circular walks.

The River Bulbourne chalk stream rises at Cow Roast and flows through the centre of Berkhamsted. In the past, it supported a watercress industry, and you can see the remnants of the watercress beds still today. All starting and finishing at Berkhamsted train station, these three walks vary from 2 miles to 6 miles. Worth a detour is Berkhamsted Castle, a Norman Motte and Bailey Castle with a moat that was once fed by the Bulbourne.
