This small nature reserve on the Chiltern escarpment is packed with wildlife and is a great example of species rich chalk grassland. It is most famous for its wild orchids of which there are several species and many thousands of individual plants making a spectacular display in midsummer.
There are many other chalk grassland plants as well as areas of Hazel coppice, scrub and Beech woodland, adding to the biodiversity of this site.
We will take a leisurely stroll around the reserve to enjoy the special wildlife at this site and to talk about how BBOWT manages the reserve to help conserve the flora and fauna.
There is some car parking for space just inside the reserve, and in the adjacent lay-by; we suggest car-sharing where possible.
