Citizen Science work highlighted in new film
Recently our River Chess Smarter Water Catchment team were delighted to contribute towards an ambitious digital campaign spearheaded by The Chartered Institution of Water and Environment Management (CIWEM) and in collaboration with Content With Purpose (CWP). The campaign titled “The Ripple Effect: Inspiring a Resilient Environment” showcases the essential work of water and environmental management professionals through a captivating mix of short films, interviews and case studies.
Bringing together innovators, leaders and collaborators who are driving the change needed to confront today’s environmental challenges, The Ripple Effect not only addresses the pressing issues of climate change and extreme weather, but also emphasises the necessity for collective action at all levels of society to ensure a cleaner, more biodiverse planet for future generations.
We contributed to the series by sharing the story of our citizen science project through the River Chess Smarter Water Catchment. On the short video we explain how we have worked with local communities to develop a programme of citizen science to investigate and address water quantity, water quality and ecological issues in the River Chess, proving the power of citizen engagement in driving meaningful change.
