Chesham Moor – Temporary footbridge closure and path diversion

Temporary footbridge closure and path diversion at junction of Bois Moor Road and Moor Road 25th to 28th November.

As part of the habitat improvement works at Chesham Moor, the existing concrete footbridge is being replaced and the footpath will need to be temporarily closed.

An alternative routing is being advised, shown in the figure below (Showing location of temporary closure and advisory alternative routing) , which should add only two to three minutes to most journeys. To minimise disruption to pedestrians, the closure will avoid the weekend.

The bridge is being replaced now as it is beyond its useful life, does not conform to current access requirements and safety standards, and finally our contractors are already working on site so it is more cost effective to do it now. The bridge is being wholly funded using a grant from Defra’s Access Fund.
