FULLY BOOKED – The Hamble Brook is a winterbourne stream that has been extensively modified over many centuries. Since 2022 the Chilterns Chalk Streams Project has been working to return the river to a more natural state – restoring over 1km of the channel (so far) and creating 2500m2 of new wetland habitat. This is one of the largest winterbourne restoration projects ever attempted.
Join Rivers Officer, Adrian Porter for a rare opportunity to visit the restoration site (not normally accessible to the public) to find out more about this exciting project.

Additional information
From our meeting point we will travel by minibus to the start point of our walk, just upstream on the restoration project. We will then take a gentle stroll following the river back to the car park in Hambleden.
Sturdy, waterproof boots recommended as the route is wet in places.
