We will kick off the survey season for amphibians and reptiles with a starter event open to the our citizen scientists and members of the public.

In 2024 we piloted a monitoring scheme on a small scale in the Chess catchment. In 2025 we would like to extend the survey to more sites in the Chilterns and offer more options for surveying.

This event will give us the opportunity to demonstrate monitoring methods and discuss all the options for new volunteers. We want to gauge the interest for pond surveys, artificial refugia monitoring, toad patrolling and great crested newt surveys.

The event is organized in collaboration with Wild Amersham @ Sustainable Amersham (https://sustainableamersham.org/wild-amersham/) and Bucks Amphibian and Reptile Group. If you have any interest in amphibians and reptiles and you want to learn more about surveying, book your place and have a chat with us! More details below.
